Impact of Gaseous Pollutants Reduction on Fine Particulate Matter and Its Secondary Inorganic Aerosols in Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Region

A reduction in gaseous pollutants is an important method for mitigating PM2.5 concentration the atmosphere, and SO2/NH3/NOx beneficial to control secondary inorganic aerosols PM2.5. In this study, Weather Research Forecasting model with Chemistry (WRF-Chem) was applied study impact on its using scenario simulation Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) region. The results showed that BTH region characterized by being NH3-rich having a higher [NH4+]/[SO42−] ratio southern BTH, of more than 6.0. Source contribution highest 30%_SO2_40%_NH3_40%_NOx scenario, 6.8%, followed 3.8% 30%_SO2_40%_NH3 3.4% 30%_SO2_60%_NH3_60%_NOx scenario. These indicate synergistic measures may be suitable controlling concentrations. lower sensitivity factor, β value between NH3 suggests solely reducing emissions not However, indicates NO3− would improve significantly if are reduced sharply. slight found medium small cities, while significant decrease mega-cities. also observed SO42− constituents continued consistent approximately 0.14 30%_SO2_%_NH3 10.5 12.8 30%_SO2_%_NH3_%_NOx findings suggest SO2-NH3-NOx effective concentrations (SIAs). it ensure NOx exceeds 60% low SO2 conditions.
